As soon as I got the rifles home, I unwrapped them, photographed them and sent the pictures to my Scouting acquaintances world-wide. Your BSA Commemoratives have been well received by my colleagues in the Scouting community. One reply I received from my best friend and fellow Scouter included these enthusiastic words - "Well you fell in it and came up roses. I have no idea what you paid for those rifles but the walnut in the stocks is beautiful let alone the engraving. The commemoration makes them priceless. They certainly are too pretty for wall hangers (that's a joke, son! - no lectures). In future years, regardless of the books that measure such things, they should be impossible to value. I could guess that Mr. Imperato would have to be a ex or current Scouter to want to produce such a work of art for the organization. God bless him. This rifle celebrates Philmont® Scout Ranch; the Boy Scouts of America's oldest national high-adventure base and the largest youth camp in the world by size and number of participants. Its 34 staffed camps and 55 trail camps have provided unforgettable adventures in the high country along hundreds of miles of rugged, rocky trails to more than 930,000 Scouts, Venturers and leaders.
This Henry Frontier Lever .22 is offered with the Philmont® Black Bull logo embellished with 18 kt. gold plate on the right side of the dark receiver cover. Into the right side of the American walnut stock is laser etched and hand painted in multiple colors a rendering of Philmont's iconic Tooth of Time, a 9,003 foot molar in the sky with the words TOOTH OF TIME blazoned underneath the mountain's slope. On the forearm is the Philmont® scripted emblem bracketed by the Slash backwards S horse brand and the Bar P backwards S cattle brand burned into the wood.
This special edition, officially licensed by the Boy Scouts of America, recalls a place of adventure, beauty and reverence by all who have completed a trek, ridden its trails on horseback or dreamed of such wilderness experiences.
